Right Make-Up Foundation
Not many women realize the importance of right foundation, the truth is foundation is the canvas for all other makeup products and very often is the most difficult to choose.
How to choose right makeup foundation
Our answer is skin type and foundation consistency: cream, liquid, tinted moisturizer or powder.
Creamy Foundation
They usually come in jars, cream foundation ensures complete coverage and flawless look. Creamy foundation has heavier consistency so if you have blemish prone complexion this is not the product for you. One of our favorite product here is Lancome Absolute Replenishing Cream Make-Up SPF 20
Liquid Foundation
Not as heavy as foundation cream offers less, medium coverage especially great for dry skin types. Women with acne-prone tendency ought be looking for an oil free formula. If this category’s for you, definitely try Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation.
Tinted Moisturizer
The lightest consistency and lightest coverage, tinted moisturizers leave very thin layer of color. Some women prefer this type of foundation with sunscreen formula, example: LA ROCHE POSAY 50+ XL TINTED CREAM as it is very subtle and comfortable.
Powder Foundation
The most versatile form of coverage, depending on the applying tool you can achieve medium-light layer. Powder foundations are available in pressed or powder-based forms and usually are great choice for those with oily skin. Our choice is Avene Couvrance Bronzer Mosaic Powder.
Air Spray Foundation
The newest technique on the market leaves “airbrush” effect. Leaves very thin layer, which ensures even skin tone. The one to try is Christian Dior Skin Air Flash Spray Foundation

Greetings!
I’m still experimenting, but so far the absolute best foundation I’ve ever used has been one I bought at the Prescriptives counter at Neiman Marcus at the Dallas Northpark Center just before my wedding day. It was one of those custom-blended foundations that Prescriptives offers, and I was amazed at the result. Even my husband, who normally doesn’t like it when I wear foundation (mostly because the ones I’ve tried had never quite matched and made my face look too “off”), was surprised and pleased at how well it blended into my skin.
What was even more impressive was how much time and effort the Prescriptives associate spent on ensuring that he had the perfect match. I think I spent an hour in his chair, and we went outside at least 4 times to check my face in natural light after each test. Plus, he was just super-nice and friendly, without being pushy. When he was finally satisfied with the result, he made notes on the computer so that I could easily purchase the same shade the next time I came into the store.
Overall, I would say it was probably the best department-store makeup counter experience I’ve ever had. It was definitely not cheap — I think I paid $50 each for foundation and powder, and I heard the prices have increased a bit since then — but well worth the time and money considering how much of both I’ve wasted over the years trying to find the right shade elsewhere.

I apply a small amount of a shielding lotion before having my foundation on (MAX FACTOR, Color Adapt (Natural)), it keeps the skin hydrated throughout the day, foundation goes on smooth and stays on flawlessly for longer time. And the skin dooesn’t feel so “tired” by the end of the day:).
