How to Take Care of Skin of a Newborn

Filed under: beauty tips — admin @ 3:22 pm

What you need to first realize about your newborn is that their skin is not like your own. Untouched by the sun and by harmful chemicals, your baby has a blank canvas of skin cells that are pristine. To protect this fragile skin, you have a lot of options and tools at your disposal.

First of all, the best thing you can do for your baby is to bathe them on a regular basis with a gentle skin cleanser. Make sure to choose a product that is made for the sensitive skin of a baby, not something that caters to adult skin. You can also have a basin of warm water into which you dip a clean cotton ball to wipe the face of your newborn clean, including the eyes.

Once you are done cleaning your baby’s skin, you will want to gently pat them down and apply a light baby lotion to their arms and legs. This will help to protect the skin from becoming too dry and a soothing scent can often calm a fussy baby.

If you should notice any rashes or skin irritation on your baby, you may want to call your doctor, but in most cases, these are simply going to resolve on their own. When a rash is accompanied by a fever, however, you will want to schedule an appointment with your baby’s pediatrician.

You might want to opt for natural skin care products that do not contain harsh chemicals like other products. While these may be more expensive, they are less likely to harm your baby’s skin and to cause irritation.

It is not necessary to scrub your baby’s skin, not is it recommended. Since your newborn’s skin is much thinner than yours, you only need to gently pat it when you are bathing them, perhaps even giving them a gentle massage as you do.

Sunburn

Filed under: Information — admin @ 2:17 pm

sunburnIf you’ve laid down a bit too much on the sun and you think you are experiencing sunburn, first smart thing to do is to visit your dermatologist office. If doctor decides your skin condition is not critical and does not require special treatment you can use our home after-sun repair recipe.

To cool down your burned pinky skin you’ll need to open up your fridge for yogurt. Smearing yogurt on your complexion can help un-burn your damage skin and rebuild the vital pH balance, so it restores faster. Use only plain, full-fat organic yogurt and let it sit on your skin until it warms up, rinse with water. It is good idea to repeat this treatment few times.

It is always better to prevent this unpleasant situation by using appropriate sunscreen. If you have extremely reactive skin try looking for sun blocks based on mineral ingredients such as titanium dioxide or zinc oxide. Dr Hauschka makes exceptionally good mineral based sunscreens.

Filed under: beauty tips — admin @ 12:10 pm

What kind of skin care products should African-American use?

There are a lot of African-American women visiting dermatologist office, looking for cause of their skin discoloration. In most cases it is caused by the products they pick up in their favorite beautician store. Most of the dark skinned women have highly pigmented complexion, so it crucial to avoid products that can cause skin inflammation by checking their ingredients. Dark skin women should avoid skin care that contain Alpha Hydroxy Acid, vitamin C, Alpha Lipoic Acid. Please also make sure that your hair removal product is not the cause of unwanted pigmentation.

First thing all women should check is their skin type and then choose appropriate products. It is good idea for dark skinned women to use products that contain any of the following ingredients: oatmeal, licochalone, chamomile or feverfew that have anti-inflammatory properties.

Home Based Skin Care

Filed under: beauty tips — admin @ 2:54 am

When it comes to skin care, you don’t need to head to your local cosmetics counter or to a dermatologist. You can often find home based skin care cures and remedies that not only cost little, but also provide numerous benefits. Here are some of the ways you care for your skin at home.

The first step to any skin care routine is cleansing. You should be washing your face in the morning as well as in the evening with a gentle soap-free cleanser. This should not be the same cleanser that you use for your body. In fact, you might simply want to rinse your skin with warm water to help remove excess oils and dirt.

To help your skin look more youthful, you can look to your refrigerator for home wrinkle cures. A simple egg white mask can help to tighten your pores as well as to reduce the appearance of fine lines. Simply whisking some egg whites together and applying them to your face (avoiding the eyes), allowing to dry and then rinsing away is all that you need to do.

For wrinkles, try using olive oil as a serum or applying cocoa butter to your skin. You can also make an exfoliating scrub with honey and sugar. Mix equal parts of both until you make a paste and then apply to any rough area on your skin. Rinse away to reveal clean and soft skin that doesn’t cost a fortune.

You can also use oatmeal and water to create a paste to slough away rough skin or as a mask to help rejuvenate a dull complexion. The acids in strawberries, papayas, and lemons can also help perk up your face, so try rubbing some of the juices on your skin for a fruit enzyme peel.

Depression and your skin condition

Filed under: Information — admin @ 3:04 pm

Depression
When you’re feeling down and out, you can barely look in the mirror, much less try to do anything to improve your appearance. But at a cellular level, your skin is suffering right along with you. As your body becomes depressed, your cells start to slow down, causing a multitude of problems, not the least of which, sallow and unhealthy skin.

As you begin to feel sad, you might start forgetting your skin care routine. You fall asleep without washing your face or applying your favorite lotions and potions. This results in skin damage due to dirt and chemical buildup. You might also begin to eat unhealthy foods (or not eat at all) which can slow down the cellular function and repair for your body.

If your body is depressed, the cells are not functioning at their highest capacity. In order to have healthy skin, there needs to be a constant turnover of skin cells. This way, the dead skin cells are pushed to the surface of the skin, while the newer skin cells emerge and showcase a brighter complexion. If your mind is not healthy, your cells can not turnover as easily as they should, leaving you with a dull appearance.

By taking a few moments to simply drink some water and to get a little exercise, you will be able to enhance the appearance of your skin as well as to begin to increase your moods. Exercise has been shown to not only improve blood flow to the skin, but also to encourage rapid cellular repair – this adds up to fewer wrinkles as well as more moisture in the skin itself.

Feeling depressed is something that everyone experiences at once point or another, but it doesn’t mean that you need to look unhealthy at the same time. You can do something about your depression and if you feel that you need more help, check with your doctor to see what options you have.

Darphin Jasmine Aromatic Care

Filed under: Products — admin @ 10:02 pm

Darphin Jasmine Aromatic CareDarphin Jasmine Aromatic Care is for use on mature skin (face, neck, chest areas) and combines aromatherapy and skin care. Approximately 5-6 drops of the essential oil applied to the face not only provides nourishment but a protective layer that keeps the skin from experiencing further moisture loss. Those looking to replace a youthful radiance and lessen the sings of aging are good candidate for this product. The product also improves elasticity.

Darphin Jasmine Aromatic Care comes in a frosted .5 oz jar. Applied daily, users have a chance to maintain a moisture balance in mature skin using natural plant based essential oils. Upon removing the cap, users are directed to deeply inhale the product’s aroma. Drops are then applied to the face via the fingertips and massaged outwardly and in a circular motion. This product is to be used in conjunction with other skin care products of the Darphin line.

While many skin care lines add fragrances to their products to increase their appeal to consumers, very few actually incorporate aromatherapy into the regimen. This product is for mature, dry skin that not only needs but can tolerate the application of oil on the face. Even though many essential oils tend to be rather light, this is a product that can still cause major problems for individuals who have pores that clog easily. Using natural products are a good choice for skin that cannot tolerate much in the way of concentrated age fighting treatments. As skin ages, it becomes thinner and thinner, making it much more difficult to find products that don’t cause some sort of adverse reaction. Many users enjoy being able to return to a skin care product that is simple and uncomplicated to use. Price comparison shopping can help find the best deal for this product but prices are likely to stay in the high level range.

Ingredients include: Jasmine essential wax, Rosewood and Orange essential oils, Rasperry Pip and Muscat oils, Avocado extracts.

Zeno Acne Device

Filed under: Products — admin @ 5:40 pm

Zeno Acne DeviceZeno is an acne fighting system that consists of a battery operated, handheld device. The product reduces acne inflammations by placing the tip of the device directly on the blemish and delivering heat to the follicle. Over the course of 2 to 3 treatments in a 24 hour period, the bacteria will be destroyed thereby reducing inflammation.

Zeno works on the premise of healing acne by using heat to destroy the bacteria that promotes pimples. The smart chip technology in Zeno ensures users will receive just the right amount of thermal activity to destroy bacteria in the blemish by automatically adjusting to the user’s own body temperature. Once the device is powered on, users must wait for an amber colored light. The Ready tone signals when it is time to place, but not push, the device’s treatment tip onto the blemish and depress the flashing green Treatment Activation Button. A Treatment Pacer signal will sound throughout the two and half minute treatment. When the treatment is complete, a Treatment Complete signal will sound and the light will return to amber prompting the end of the procedure.

This unique way of fighting pimples can mean not only reducing the size of large pimples in a very short time but also less in the way of scarring and harsh, messy treatments that only exacerbate conditions. The product should be used at the first sign of a pimple in order to be truly effective. While this is a unique approach to fighting blemishes, Zeno is for use on mild to moderate cases of acne. It should not be used as a replacement for good hygiene and is designed to mostly be used on the occasional pimple. Replacement tips must be replenished regularly. The basic Zeno model includes 90 replacement tips. The product is small and compact enough to be carried in a purse or kept in a desk drawer. Comparison shopping will help consumers find the best deal, however the device is likely to stay in the high level price range.

Skin Redness

Filed under: Information — admin @ 9:12 pm

Skin RednessWe all know how frustrating unwanted redness can be. Most often it is caused by acne, sunburn, capillaries, bad diet or effects of your recent cosmetic procedure. Usually redness is some kind of your body’s signal that is fighting inflammation and irritation so it is important to take a closer look into it.

Skin Care Products
There’s lots of available products on the market that may reduce redness - La Roche Posay Rosaliac, however in some cases the only solution is to visit at the dermatologist office and use a combination of both, prescribed medication and topical treatment.

Light based treatments are effective for reducing persistent redness. Most common procedures are: Intense Pulsed Light and GentleWaves. Both treatments stimulate your skin’s natural rejuvenation process, leaving your skin soft and youthful.

What if I you have rosacea?
Well, rosacea is still one of the most difficult conditions to treat. Although there’s a number of available treatment options, there’s no cure. Medicine, skin care products or light based treatments can only reduce redness, but there no absolute cure.
