hi all.. im new here and new to reviewing so excuse the rambleing if you will... so here is my review
of dr. hauska's facial skincare and haircare both which i have been using for 4 months.. enjoy

this might sound strange but when i first heard and read about dr. haushka products it made me
feel nostalgic..yes nostalgic. i come from bangladesh - no its not all cyclones and floods - were
natural products are preferred over otc products and almost EVERYONE uses coconut oil, almond
oil, neem (amongst others) for day to day hair and skin cleansing and conditioning was lovely to see a range of
products using the same ingredients (grown biodynamically - or super organically).. I personally looove neem
products and its something of a wonder herb in the east; used for creams, oils, shampooes, the dried or
ground leafs (we have 3 neem trees arnd my house) are used as facial packs to get rid of acne and scarring
as well as balance out combination skin (it really works for this) its ingested to clear the digestive
tract and there has been susbstantial scientific research into the effects of neem as a contraceptive.

Alas I can neither afford the time nor money to go back home every couple of months to stock
up on my natural goodies so was great to find a range tht utalised the same ingredients in their
hair/skin care.. i also prefer to use cream cleansers over gels and have noticed a HUGE difference
in my skin since using the full routine.. even i prefer it to dermalogica which i'v been using for the
last year on my oily/blemish prone yet super sensitive skin.

the routine is actually quite simple once you get the hang of it and all the products come with detailed
instructions on how to use the products, what is inside each product and their benefits.

in the morning i start with cleansing cream - it contains crushed almond kernals but is described as
a non scrub cleanser and should applied very gently in a press and roll movement. I then wipe clean
with a warm soaked muslin cloth and repeat before splashing face with cold water to tighten pores.

follow with a light spray of the toner - i use the clarifying toner and while face is still slightly wet with

this i apply the quince day cream which also contains natural mineral sunscreens (im not sure what these
are and if im not wearing make up will still top up with sunblock in summers - dermalogica do good ones)

in the evening i use cotton wool and the cleansing milk to remove make up and follow the routine
from the morning with cream cleanser and toner but NO moisturiser. Dr Haushka advises not to
use cream at night as it the time the skin needs to rebuild itself over night (so i think..correct me if im wrong)
however as i still have acne scarring and the occasional spot i use dermatalogically reccomended retin - a
2-3 evenings a week which seems to work just fine with dr. haushka products.

As I have mentioned i do love neem, and i use his neem oil for weekly scalp/hair treatment and
neem shampoo (also known as apricot and burdock shampoo) followed with jojoba and marshmallow
conditioner... i'v had trouble with itchy scalp and hair loss recently and regular nizorel and head n
shoulders just weren't cutting it, i tried nioxin - the shampoo and conditioner were nothing special
but i continue to use the treatment in the summer months every other day to relieve from itchy n oily
scalp. anyhow the neem products were much better overall for balancing oils in scalp and hair and
left it clean and moisturised. I have yet to try dr hauska's body products but i feel i'll like them too.

while dr. h isnt on the cheap side its certainly no were near as expensive as some of the salon range
shampooes and skin care which claim to be reccomended by dermatologists - who are the dermatologists??
and having used neem and almond based products since childhood i cannot fault the ingredients at all. I
like the fact the products are packaged in small glass tubes which are fully recyclable - yup im on an eco
drive.... sorry if this seems like im raving insanely abt dr. h but i'm soo happy with these products and dont
see myself changing to something else in a loooong looong time. the only true complaint i would have the
range is the lack of products for anti-ageing where maybe more advanced chemicals and processes are needed.

PS - if you are interested in home remedies, facial packs etc please contact me and i will be happy to help
